RosterMetrix vs iScore: an iScore alternative for your whole league
Reviewed October 18, 2026
iScore Baseball and Softball is a very detailed scoring app for the phone or tablet of whoever keeps a team’s book. RosterMetrix is the stats platform for a whole league, in English and Spanish, with live scoring, a public page for every league and the commissioner’s approval on every game. Here they are side by side, using what each one says about itself.

What each one is
iScore Baseball and Softball, by Faster Than Monkeys, presents itself as a complete scorebook on your phone. According to its site, it tracks more than 500 batting, pitching and fielding stats, records every ball and strike, every steal, pickoff and passed ball, has a pitch tracker with location, type and speed, a spray chart, and undo and redo back to any point in the game. It also says you do not need to know how to keep a scorebook to use it.
RosterMetrix is the stats platform for an amateur baseball or softball league. Each league has its own address, like rostermetrix.com/yourleague, with the schedule, standings, leaders, a page for every player, a box score for every game, the playoffs and the awards, in English or Spanish, with no account and no fee to read it.
How each one is paid for
iScore is listed as free on the App Store, with in-app purchases. Its site says you do not have to buy extra software or pay extra fees to access your stats. The optional extras it lists are a team website, at $19.99 per team per year, and the Major League Season Package, at $19.99 per season. To follow an iScorecast in the iScore Central app, it notes that additional charges may apply.
On RosterMetrix the league pays, per team, based on the country it plays in and its category. An adult league pays USD 45 per team per season in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, and USD 10 everywhere else. A youth league pays USD 50 per team per year in those three countries and USD 30 elsewhere. A new league’s first two game days are free.
If all you want is to score your own games, with no league pages, RosterMetrix has the separate Anotador: it works offline, exports each game to Excel, and comes with 3 free games; after that it is USD 10 a month.
From one team to the whole league
In iScore, a league is a way to group teams inside the app: with League Manager you put each team in its league and view only that one. Its App Store listing puts it this way: players, teams and games can belong to any number of user defined leagues. The website it offers is per team, updates every time you score a game and can be embedded in another site.
On RosterMetrix the league is the center. Each manager enters their own team’s sheet, or the scorer the league assigns enters both, and nothing counts until the commissioner approves it. Standings, leaders, the MVP and every player’s page come from what was approved, for every team at once, without each team keeping its own site.
If the league scores on paper, a photo of the sheet becomes stats: anything it is not sure about is asked with one tap before it counts. And if a game is streamed, the scorebug sits on top of the video and updates on its own as the game is scored.
When iScore is the better fit
If you keep score for one team and want the most detailed book on your phone, with each pitch’s location, type and speed, more than 500 stats and no need for a signal, iScore does that well and is a free download.
It is also the better fit if you want an app store app for iPhone, iPad or Android, or if you want your stats in Excel, CSV or PDF to use however you like.
When RosterMetrix is the better fit
If you want the whole league in one place: standings, leaders, schedule, playoffs and every player’s page, for every team, published without anyone building a site.
If your league plays and talks in Spanish, or in both languages: RosterMetrix was built in Spanish from day one and everyone sees it in their phone’s language.
If the commissioner wants the final word: every manager’s sheet waits for approval and only the commissioner corrects what is published, with a note.
If the league scores on paper and does not want to type: a photo of the sheet becomes stats. And the price is per team, based on the country where the league plays.
How to get started with RosterMetrix
Leagues do not sign up on their own: message Osmany on WhatsApp or through the Contact form and we set up your league with your teams, rosters, logos and schedule. RosterMetrix does not supply scorers: the sheets are entered by the managers or by your league’s scorer.
