RosterMetrix vs GameChanger: a GameChanger alternative for leagues
Reviewed October 18, 2026

What each one is
GameChanger calls itself the number one youth sports app in America. The coach scores the game, sets the lineup, keeps the schedule and messages the team, and families follow the game live. According to its App Store listing, a team can stream for free in Full HD 1080p, and the app builds highlight clips and game recaps on its own.
RosterMetrix is the stats platform for an amateur baseball or softball league. Each league has its own address, like rostermetrix.com/yourleague, with the schedule, standings, leaders, a page for every player, a box score for every game, the playoffs and the awards. Anyone can read it in English or Spanish, with no account and no fee.
How each one is paid for
On GameChanger, coaches and staff use every feature for free. Parents, family and fans who want more are the ones who pay: in the US App Store, Plus is USD 9.99 a month or USD 39.99 a year, and Premium is USD 14.99 a month or USD 99.99 a year. Without paying, a fan can watch up to five baseball or softball live streams; streams of other sports stay free with no limit. A team can also buy a Team Pass that covers all of its followers: Plus at $239 per season or Premium at $449 per season, according to its Team Pass page.
On RosterMetrix the league pays, per team, based on the country it plays in and its category. An adult league pays USD 45 per team per season in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, and USD 10 everywhere else. A youth league pays USD 50 per team per year in those three countries and USD 30 elsewhere. An eight-team adult league in the Dominican Republic pays USD 80 a season; in the US, USD 360. Fans and players pay nothing to see the stats.
A new league plays its first two game days for free, with the whole product. If it stays, it pays for its first full season; if not, it pays nothing.
The whole league, not just your team
GameChanger has Organizations for baseball, softball, basketball, football and flag football leagues and tournaments. According to its page, standings update on their own after every completed game, the admin schedules games for every team, and one scorekeeper can score both teams. Since July 2025, a baseball or softball league’s leaderboards rank all of its players in 17 batting, pitching and fielding stats, on the web and in the app, with CSV export.
On RosterMetrix the league is the center. Each manager enters their own team’s sheet, or the scorer the league assigns enters both, and nothing counts until the commissioner approves it. After that, only the commissioner corrects it, with a note. Rates (AVG, OBP, ERA, WHIP) come from one formula for the season, a team, a phase or any filter.
If the league keeps score on paper, the manager or scorer takes a photo of the sheet from the game page and RosterMetrix reads it and turns it into stats. Anything it is not sure about is asked with one tap before it counts.
When GameChanger is the better fit
If you coach a youth team in the US and you want to score, stream the game on video and keep families in the loop, GameChanger does it all in one app, and for you it costs nothing. Its community is huge: it says it has more than a million teams and more than ten million users in 2025, so your opponents may already be on it.
It is also the better fit when video is the main thing: GameChanger streams from its own app and keeps clips and full game videos. RosterMetrix does not stream video; it puts the scorebug on top of the stream you already run.
When RosterMetrix is the better fit
If your league plays and talks in Spanish, or in both languages, RosterMetrix was built in Spanish from day one and everyone sees it in their phone’s language.
If the commissioner wants the final word: every manager’s sheet waits for approval, and the standings, leaders and MVP come only from what was approved.
If the league scores on paper and does not want to type: a photo of the sheet becomes stats. And if it wants to score live, the scorer follows the game pitch by pitch on a phone.
If you want the price to depend on your league and not on each family: you pay per team, with prices by country, and reading the league’s pages costs nobody anything.
How to get started with RosterMetrix
Leagues do not sign up on their own: message Osmany on WhatsApp or through the Contact form and we set up your league with your teams, rosters, logos and schedule. RosterMetrix does not supply scorers: the sheets are entered by the managers or by your league’s scorer.
